011215.
I'm supposed to be doing my SIP report or researching about my Major Project but no I'm watching The Big Bang Theory and typing this HAHAHAHAHAHA ok (went on 21/11, posting on 24/11 but I don't know why my November posts below this one are not showing, so I'll change the date to 1st Dec)
Ying Swam must be so -____- with me HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
I'll blog about the our first weekend here in Oita!
So we woke up at 8 am instead of the 7 am we planned HAHAHA.
In other words Ying Swam woke up at 8 am and then woke me up because I can't hear my alarm for nuts HAHAHA.
Cue the next 20 minutes of walking downhill with YS leading the way with google map to our nearest train station.
Have never walked in this direction so it was quite different and cool!
Saw a dead cat along the way in the drain along the way :(
There was water and YS asked me to take a pic, then I saw the dead cat haizxczx.
It was so sad.....
I took a picture but it was sad and I deleted it.
Our train tickets!!!
We bought the return tickets, 210円 each~
At the train station!!
The picture of us is gorgeous man, the lighting!!
Our train!! HAHAHA,
We weren't sure if it was our train or not but should be ah so just take.
YAY for taking the right train hahaha.
We reached Oita station!!!
The board for the train timings.
Kawaii!!
The departmental store? HAHAHA.
Supermarket!!
Seriously look at the array of tempura stuff omg
My wallet is crying
The outside of Oita Station hehehe.
The streets~
We were finding Daiso and was 8 mins away.
I saw this building named DAIS_,
So I told YS I saw Daiso and we walked towards it.
HAHAHAHA WHEN WE GOT NEARER, it was DAISY.
Hahaha, but well, we ended 2 mins away only.
Walked according to google maps,
We saw Starbucks,
And I was excited cause I wanted to get a tumbler!!!
But well, the selection was meh, I guess cause it was a small outlet.
They only had one tumbler design..........
BUT the staff just gave us a cup of coffee!!
Black...... coffee....... but still coffee anyway. HAHAHA.
We moved on our search to Daiso, turned and saw it HAHAHAHA.
Honestly I can't rly remember how it tastes cause I had one and I didn't really like it hahahaha.
We continued walking on the streets, damn is it big!
There are sooooo many sections HAHA.
LOOK AT THESE KIDS.
Blur cause it was a secretly taken shot HAHAHA I didn't want to look like a creep.
We also found GD along the way :D
We walked back towards Oita Station, where we went to the mall~
JR Oita City I think.
HAHAHA.
We got the guest coupons!!
Just needed to show our passports and take a picture with Pikachu and post it on social media HAHAHA.
KFC HAHAHA.
Walked to Tokyu Hands,
and some shop next to it selling damn cute stuff HAHAHA.
THEN POKEMON STORE!!!
Cool stuff man.
Kino, freaking big and gorgeous.
They have this Cooking Studio thing which I think it's damn cool!?!?
Like basically you cook what you eat (I think, I still can't read Jap for nuts)
Had planned on having sushi for our first meal out, those with the conveyor belt so it's more convenient for us, not having to look like idiots who doesn't know how to order.
BUTTT we only saw a Standing Sushi Bar where you legit have to stand (no way) and then a sushi restaurant where we weren't certain on how much it will cost us.
So we ended up here!
Got my brother to translate the set menu for me HAHAHA.
It was 1,380円, excluding tax.
Well, it was about 200円 more for the Lemon tea and the hamburg steak and the fish/chicken.
But less sauce and ingredients on my omurice :(
The person tried to ask us if the ice tea we wanted was to be Lemon Ice Tea (I think).
Just said yes when she finally mentioned the word lemon so I don't have to continue being caught in the awkward situation where both me and the waitress have no idea how to communicate HAHAHA.
Drip shot requested/suggested by YS!
Seriously love the burst mode on my camera man.
Went to the Sanrio shop!!!
Ok gudetama is damn cute so I keep taking pictures of it.
I took others too!!!
Just I never upload here only hahahhaa.
Went to MUJI after going to a 300 yen shop.
Was taking photos when this boy just came in front of me and I thought it was quite funny how he photobombed the shot HAHAHAHA.
About the same stuff here as they have in Singapore~~
Highlight of the day was going to the rooftop!!!!
We went up cause they had this thing where foreigners (that's us) could try on the Yuktaka for free.
The place is freaking gorgeous and serene man.
I was so in love!!!
Walking forward, there was like a cafe and playground and something like a.... I don't know what to call it!
It's not a shrine (I think) but it's like I could climb the stairs, there was different statues (?) inside and a bird's eye view of Oita station.
(Later found out it was one of the taller 'buildings' that overlooked Oita station!!)
The cafe~
Swag playground.
We could hit the bell!
Part of the 'Shrine' I was talking about.
View from upstairs! (They had this train going around the place which I thought was pretty neat!)
Inside the 'shrine'
HAHAHAHAHA
The train!
The ball pool they had inside the cafe.
Wooden balls.....
HMMM.
Mirror shot!
YS was like (whining) of how it was a perfect place for dating, perfect weather too.
Ahem!
We saw this old couple, and YS was saying how I should get a shot of them.
So I basically ran to their back to get a shot,
The train was moving again when we were about to leave,
And then we were commenting on how the guy looked so sick of his job.
I wanted to get a photo of the train, then he noticed and smiled at the camera HAHA so cute!!
We then headed back down...
Went into the arcade and guess what was the first thing that caught my eye.....
THE IMAGE OF BIGBANG!!!
Omg it's the bigbang prize claw!!!
I saw images of this on twitter but never thought I would see it in Oita!!
Spent 300円 on this and didn't get anything tho :(
We then spent 700円 on this. (YS 500円 and I 200円)
We basically tilted the entire stack kkk but no luck cause the sweets were too light to move the bottom of the stack. :(
There was a group of young boys who saw their chance and tried their luck after us, I think they spent more money than us, and when we left they didn't get the chocolates too.
Some consolation for us....
LOOK AT THE GIANT CANISTERS OF PRINGLES.
No more in Singapore omg.
A lot of students~
The coins were meant to be put outside and we went in when the girls went out to put the coins.
HAHAHA they were like errrrrrr when they saw us LOL.
YS was still bummed over the chocolates and said that we should come back and take when we look better (when she isn't so upset)
Wanted to catch hunger games but the timing that we could catch was the movie dubbed in Japanese :(
I don't really wanna hear Katniss speaking Japanese so HAHAHAHA.
Actually that will be cool but still.
Went to buy my gelato!!
Finally got to eat ice cream in Japan!!!
Chose the triple flavour,
Got Earl Gray Latte, Raspberry and Tiramisu.
470円~
420円 for single flavor, two scoops and double flavors, two scoop.
I thought what's 50円 when that means I could try an extra flavor right!
I wanted Pistachio but it would cause me an additional 100円 so nah.
I panicked cause I was holding up the line so I chose Tiramisu.
I thought I made a wrong choice cause the color would not be nice since it looks like the Earl Gray Latte but OH NO, IT'S GORGEOUS LOOKING AND IT TASTED OH SO GOOD.
Seriously omg I love the flavors I chose man!!!
Went out, back to Oita Station to get the cream bun we saw when we first came in.
We wanted to get it when we first arrived, but we were still full from breakfast....
They were advertising it like in the mall so we thought it looked good and we gotta try man!
八天堂
Apprantly it's damn famous cause there was a line when we got back AND, MOST FLAVOURS WERE SOLD OUT.
YS wanted to come back later and see if we still had the mood for it, or else we would get it another day.
then I realized that it was getting all sold out!??!?!?!
AND it was only a temporary store till 30th nov!!
IT WAS OUR ONLY CHANCE!!!
So we joined the queue.
If I'm not wrong, there were 6 different flavors including chocolate and 3 was sold out when we started to queue.
And then like 4 people in front of us got the last matcha :(
Only Chestnut (240円) and Original Cream (210円) was left.
(I only knew it was Chestnut from the picture LOL I rly dk how read Jap so noob)
I thought of getting the original one, but then I saw that there was lesser of the Chestnut and the guy was still restocking the original cream one, so I got the Chestnut instead (typical Singaporean)
YS got the original cream one!
Everybody was like buying in bulk, at least 5 in one go man!
Meanwhile, we just wanted to try hahahah.
We went to the other exit,
Where we walked towards a park~
There were a lot of kids!!
These two brothers? were damn cute HAHA YS ASKED ME TO TAKE.
YS and me just decided to sit on one of the benches to like rest HAHAHA.
We been walking the entire place since like 9 without any rest except during lunch!?!??!
Our cream buns!!
BUT THEY DID SAY BUNS.
So well!
Was quite disappointed cause I bought it thinking it was a cream puff???
It was alright,
Hahahaha.
Should have gotten the original cream one, YS said it had a hint of cheese taste!!
I LOVEEE :(
Of course must take some sibei step shots. HAHAHA.
It was starting to freeze man, the night breeze!!
Finally put my very burden to carry around winter jacket to use.
Walked into a rental store, WHERE I FOUND MY BABIES.
How the outside of the station looks at night~
Happy HAHAHAHAHA sibei Singaporean omg.
Went around this stretch where the shops were selling like souvenirs of Oita,
definity going to get some back!!
LOVE THE PACKAGING!!
Took pictures but HEHEHE.
Went to the supermarket again AND SERIOUSLY LOOK AT HOW CUTE THEIR STUFF ARE.
Bought this, Taiyaki? for dinner!
Oita train station~
We didn't know how to read the board so went to ask the info counter.
Thank god she gets what we're asking (basically show the ticket and ask which number HAHAHA)
The train just left when we reached.
Waited till about 6:12 (I think), when the train came.
Turns out when they say 6:19 on the board, they mean what time the train was going to depart!
Pretty neat.
Oh god, the walk back from the station was freaking horrible.
I HAD TO CLIMB BACK UPHILL, and it was so dark...........
it was only 7:30 Japan time.....................
Which meant 6:30 in Singapore............
And it looked like 11 pm in Singapore.
Was damn scared????
And there was like nobody walking!??!?!?!
And a lot of cars driving up the hill......
You don't get any signal until you noticed the flashing of lights against the walls and honestly, very dangerous.
THANK YOU YS FOR BEING THERE AND GUIDING ME BACK TO SAFETY.
omg I swear workout for the month settled by just climbing up the hill!?!?!??!
I COULDN'T CATCH MY BREATH AND YET DIDN'T WANT TO STOP CAUSE DARK AND SCARY.
and I was like sweating in 17 degree weather seriously!!!!!
It's like puff pastry and then the outside is caramelized????
YUMZ.
YAY end of first day trip out of the school!
Glad we managed to survive through it with our serious lack knowledge of the Japanese language.
